Complete Itinerary for Norway and Denmark

Please plan ahead before going to Norway and Denmark. My places of going is quite easy and relax. Below is my complete itinerary. I didn't include all the hotel and train expenses because I never really jot it down. I believe you can find the prices once you google search on it.

Remember to use www.nsb.no for all the train prices in Norway  and you can pre-book the train ticket ahead for lower price. Please download the nsb apps to your mobile phone. It is very useful to check the train timetable.

I book most of my stay via www.airbnb.com. When I'm in Norway and Denmark (September), their daylight is very long, around 830pm only start to dark so this actually benefits me. Remember to open data roaming for this whole trip. It's worth the money and saves up a lot of time because I depends on google walking map most of the time.

5/9/13 Day 1 : Reach Oslo airport. From airport, I took a train to Oslo downtown (Oslo Sentral station). Bought train ticket at the counter and it took around 20 minutes to reach the airport. Stay in Citybox hotel which is within minutes walking distance from Oslo downtown. Took a train to the sculpture park and dinner. End of the day

6/9/13 Day 2: Took train to Myrdal station. From there, take Flambana train to Flam. Stay at Flam Youth hostel. I rent a bike to explore Flam county. If you are on budget, you can bring some instant food because you can do your own cooking in this hostel.

7/9/13 Day 3: Flam to Bergen in the afternoon by train. I book a room with a host via airbnb. He gave me a bus card to use so that I can explore the city. If you have the buscard, it is 50% cheaper than paying cash inside the bus. Explore the city

8/9/13 Day 4: Mt Floyen, Bryggen, Fish Market Bergen city is very small. Basically you can explore the city on foot.

9/9/13 Day 5: Bergen to Stavanger by ferry in the evening. http://booking.norled.no/default.aspx I stay with this guy. http://backpackshack.webs.com/ He quite a funny man and I enjoy my stay there with him. He come and fetch me at the ferry port. His house is just very near to the port.

10/9/13 Day 6: Pulpit rock. Took earliest ferry to Tau. Inside ferry, you can buy the combo ticket which is the ferry and bus ticket to Pulpit Rock. Can't make it to the petroleum museum so I just loitering around the city of Stavanger

11/9/13 Day 7: Stavanger to Kristiansand by train. My purpose to Kristiansand is to meet up a friend and he suggest me to go over Denmark. My friend bring me around Kristiansand in his speedboat. Stay at Kristiansand budget hotel.

12/9/13 Day 8: Kristiansand to Hirtshals, Denmark by ferry book via http://www.colorline.com/. Once reach Hirtshals, I ask around for train to Skagen and they direct me. In Denmark, there is no pre-book train tickets available. Stay in hotel Strandvejen book via www.agoda.com. Rent a bike and I explore the city.

13/9/13 Day 9: Hirtshals to Aarhus by train. Explore city, Aros museum. Roomstay via bnb

14/9/13 Day 10: Aarhus to Odense by train. Explore Hans Christian Andersen museum and Funen village. Private apartment via airbnb

15/9/13 Day 11: Odense- Spend whole day in Egeskov Castle. Private apartment via airbnb

16/9/13 Day 12: Copenhagen- Carlsberg museum, Vertesbro, pedestrian street. Roomstay via airbnb

17/9/13 Day 13: Copenhagen - The little mermaid, Tivoli Amusement park, National Museum, Rosenberg castle. Roomstay via airbnb

18/9/13: Back to Malaysia

Basically, I prefer Norway more than Denmark because of the nature and landscape. For me, changes that I will make if I were to go again, I will spend one more day in Flam. And I should take morning ferry from Bergen to Stavanger.

Some of you maybe this itinerary is not detailed enough. I am so sorry because this is my first time doing travelogue. I will try to improve more.
