Kristiansand, Norway

From Stavanger, I took NSB train to Kristiansand. The journey took 3 hours. You can book all the train in Norway using www.nsb.no and if you are on budget, they did offer minipris which is cheaper and must be book 1 day earlier before your journey. As always, cheap things can't be modified in term of date and time.So plan your journey well.

Cheapest hotel in Kristiansand
Kristiansand city is very small and you can walk the whole city by foot. The central  station is beside this budget hotel and also Colorline ferry to Denmark the next day. This hotel is very convenient if you plan a day visit to Kristiansand. If you are fussy, this hotel may not suitable for you because everything is basic here and there's no TV in the room but free wifi.

My purpose to Kristiansand is to find a long time friend (18 years never met). He's an exchange student of my secondary school.

The shopping street which is very short

Found my friend

And from here, off to his house and to fetch her daughter from kindergarten

The kindergarten

Walking tour activity for the children in kindergarten

And after that we proceed to my friend's boat parking area. My friend told me that Kristiansand is regard as summer city because their weather is better here than other part of Norway.

Off we go

Passing by Queen Victoria ship

This ship park here for a day so that the tourist on board can go down to Kristiansand city and explore and most likely, the cruise continue in the evening.

My turn to took over the wheel
Finish the two hours touring Kristiansand by boat and off to the restaurant.

Villa Marina

Mussel spaghetti
Salami Pizza

My damage for the overall bill in this restaurant is RM 1100 for 5 people. The food and the environment is nice. After dinner, back to hotel and rest. My next day journey is Denmark.

I came across your nice blog after searching around for Jalan Sin Chew Kee, which is near my office. Saw your blog on Norway, which reminded me of a trip four years ago when my wife went there for business, which I visited Stavanger (and climbed Pulpit Rock like you), Kristiansand, Bergen, Oslo, and Trondheim (or was it Tromso? forgot hehe).

Thanks for bringing back memories :)
