Egeskov, Denmark

The next morning, I can't decide whether I want to go Aeroskobing or Egeskov castle. I woke up late because of the hangover of drinking too much wine + beer. I chose Egeskov because simple, easy and not too far.

Once reach the station, I need to take a bus to Egeskov Castle. As I was walking around, he stop by and ask me is it going to Egeskov? I say yes, and he ask me to hop in!!!

Friendly Denmark people

Such a kind man

Castle by the garden

Inside the castle, there is so much to see. I only upload one pictures and if you are interested to see more, please come to Egeskov castle. It's better than Funen Village.

I don't know what I'm doing
I'm waiting for bus to go back to the train station. I was hoping a kind hearted man stop by to give me a ride back to the station (to save some $$$ hehehehe) but seems to no avail. :-(

So much of statue around the city

Some pictures of the place I stay in Denmark. I book via airbnb. My host is a student and I believe he rent out his apartment to me and stay in his friends house. Such a genius!!

I forgot to take the picture of the kitchen. Yes, you can cook and use whatever utensils in his house. And that's the end of Odense. Continue my journey to last stop, Copenhagen!!

Odense, Denmark

I reach Odense station in the morning. I put all my luggage inside Odense station. And from Odense station, I walk to Hans Christian Andersen museum. It's a 20 minutes walk from station to the museum. You need to pay entrance fees to access the museum.

Odense is the birthplace of fairy tale writer, Hans Christian Andersen.

Hans Christian Andersen

His Portrait

Hans Christian Andersen was about 1.85metres tall - 25cm above the national average. The longlimbed tall man, the characteristic head with its deep set eyes and the large nose did not come within the ideal for beauty that prevailed at the time. He was thought to be ugly, odd-yes even repulsive and his outward appearance attracted attention and makde a clumsy , comical impression on most people.

I spend 3 hours in here just to read the story of Hans Christian Andersen. His life is quite interesting but if you are not a museum person and doesn't really like to read, I think you can skip this museum.

After Hans Christian Andersen, I went to Funen Village. You need to pay entrance fees to visit Funen Village.

One of the house inside Funen Village
Funen Village is an open air museum that present Funen  village as it could appeared in the time of Hans Christian Andersen. The Funen Village includes some thirty buildings dating from the 17th to the 19th century, all of which were moved to the museum from various sites in the Funen region.

The bedroom

It is so boring in Funen Village and I start to picking up apples!!

Apple picking
There's no apple trees in my country!!

Wild Berries
 It tastes sweet!!!

Apples again!!

Manage to get a plum!!

No-way!!! I will definitely will not come again. It's too far from the city and the museum is extremely boring.

Went back to town to do some shopping, but.......

I thought I went to the wrong street and I ask a passer-by is this the pedestrian street? He told me yes, and I ask why it's empty? He told me it's weekend and I say so? And he answered, it's the weekend so it's family day. Nobody's going to come out because everyone eat inside the house with family.

And with this, I need to end my day and walk back to the station to pick up my luggage and call my host.
