There's a lot of people asking me questions about this Pulpit Rock journey in Tripadvisor so I am going to pen down and share some pictures here. Before I came over to Pulpit Rock, I also realize there's a lot of different view about this hiking. Some say very easy, some say as hard as hell. The date I hike is on 10th September 2013.
From Bergen, I took a ferry to Stavanger and it cost me me Nok 400 per person. It took around 5 hours to reach Stavanger terminal. You can take a flight from Bergen to Stavanger which is faster and the cost is just the same or cheaper if you book earlier. My main purpose to Stavanger is to hike Pulpit Rock.

I reach Stavanger at 840pm and my host come and pick me up. Very nice scenery and clean air.
I woke up early the next day to catch my ferry to Tao. I bought the tickets on board.

It took around 45mins to and hour to reach Tao terminal.

From Tao terminal, catch the bus to Pulpit Rock base. From Tao terminal to the base, it took around 30-40 minutes if I am not mistaken. Leaflets on the bus schedule is available inside the ferry. And this is what I wear to hike the Pulpit.

These are some of the information at the base of Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen.
And it took me 2 1/2 hours to complete the climb from base to here. And of course I do take pictures around and rest a while

Some tips: Remember to bring some food or snacks so when you reach the top you have something to munch while enjoying the scenery. It's even better if you manage to bring up a hot cup of coffee or tea because it is very windy and cold up there. On my way down, I saw some Norwegian children climbing up while singing and it seems very easy to them. I also saw some elderly lady cannot make the way up and finally make a u-turn and turn back to the base.
From the pulpit, I took 2 hours to climb down the base. Compared to the Pinnacles in Mulu and Mt. Kinabalu, this is way too easy to climb up.
After that I took bus and ferry back to Stavanger town. By the time I reach Stavanger, It is around 3++pm and I don't have enough time to go to Petroleum museum which is closed at 4pm. So, I just took a photo outside of the museum.

Stavanger city is very small, you can walk the whole city by foot. And I spend the whole evening walking and wondering around before going back to my host home.
